Many Paths of natural learning is registered with the MD Department of Educations as a approved Umbrella to overseeing home instruction in Maryland. We comply with the Comar 05 and do not require a document of faith to belong to our umbrella. We are inclusive in our philosophies both education and religious. We have both a support group as well as umbrella. We also keep our group open to homeschoolers who are in need of support. We offer many opportunities for filed trips and activities and events along with group memberships to educational subscription when it can be arranged. We at Many Paths believe that families and students learn best when self motivated. We strive to help you accomplish this goal. Many Paths holds the belief that learning is a life long process and homeschooling is a family adventure. Many Paths goal is that each family and student should follow their own path, strengths and learning styles. We recognize that the family has a intuitive insight to what is best for their educational choices. Many Paths will support and give guidance and direction on educational resources and activities to best enhance your learning environment. Many Paths will draw on the uniqueness of the family, we focus on commonalities and mutual respect to develop the most natural learning environment. I am a former elementary and preschool teacher with my BS.Ed. I have been classically homeschooling for three years. My son is 18 and using a Great Books based curriculum, and my daughter is 8, following many of the recommendations from The Well-Trained Mind. I can offer advice to those of you starting up, and am also offering tutoring services this summer. I taught my daughter to read using lots of phonics and lots of reading aloud--she breezed thru chapter books like Caddie Woodlawn as a first grader! It's an amazing process--can't take all the credit, but I know our method works.
I would like to find a position in a preschool or classical school next year, or help another family homeschool. Feel free to email me.

Entering into my 26th year of teaching will provide a wealth of educational opportunites for children needing that extra support. I am a certified special education teacher in Virginia, and have taught preschool, elementary, and middle schoolin team taught, resource, and self contained classrooms. Currently, I am working at a day center for people with disabilites. My position has changed from teaching adults funtional skills to supervising staff and doing paperwork. I miss teaching students with disabilities, and looking to go back to teaching. I have experience with ABA, TEACCH, sensory activities, and VB.
